00 06 35 7 v 4 1 0 Ju l 2 00 1 Recoil Phase Effect in Exclusive B Decays : Implications for CP Violation †

چکیده

In the perturbative QCD approach to exclusive B decays to two light mesons, the leading twist contribution corresponds to those diagrams in the Lepage-Brodsky expansion in which the would be spectator quark receives its recoil momentum via one gluon exchange. We show that the resulting amplitude, which in the spectator model is real, acquires an imaginary part which may be comparable in size to its real part. Thus, this source of the strong interaction phase in the amplitude must be taken into account in general to discuss, reliably, the expectations for CP violation in B decays at any B-Factory type scenario.

0 v 1 1 7 Ju l 2 00 0 LBNL - 46257 Search for Direct CP Violation in Non - Leptonic Decays of Charged Ξ and Λ Hyperons

A search for direct CP violation in the non-leptonic decays of hyperons has been performed. In comparing the product of the decay parameters, α Ξ α Λ , in terms of an asymmetry parameter, A ΞΛ , between hyperons and anti-hyperons in the charged Ξ → Λπ and Λ → pπ decay sequence, we found no evidence of direct CP violations. The parameter A ΞΛ was measured to be 0.012 ± 0.014.

In this study the CP-asymmetry in the b → sℓ + ℓ − transition was investigated in minimal extension of the Standard Model where C ef f 9 receives an extra weak phase due to the new physics effects. We observed that CP-Violation asymmetry can be measurable in the framework of scenario mentioned above.
